Brand Voice Development + Web Copy: Oxford Comma Co.

Mixto is a Xicana-owned social marketing agency that keeps brands, influencers, and creatives tapped into culture. Their work blends rich cultural insight with sharp strategy and unapologetic style and they needed a brand identity that did the same. Our goal was to design a system that felt rooted, personal, and undeniably cool.

The Challenge

Mixto came to us without photos, videos, or brand media, just a strong voice and a clear mission. We had to build a fully expressive brand identity without visual content to lean on and instead used cultural references, type nuances, and personal textural imagery to carry the narrative. The brand also needed to balance professionalism and personality while making space for the founder’s story.

Our approach

We created a brand system defined by contrast and cultural detail. The primary logo combines clean, modern typography with a blackletter “X” to infuse Chicano influence and cultural edge. A custom rose icon, symbolizing both passion and a nod to founder Rosi, sits at the heart of the brand. We incorporated textural imagery inspired by the landscapes of Mexico, Texas, and California, and developed a suite of graphic icons inspired by the hand-painted signage common in Latin American businesses, murals, and advertisements. The result is a brand that’s expressive, layered, and rooted in real stories.
